NATIONAL RESPONSIBLE SERVICE OF ALCOHOL - OLGR APPROVED
SITHFAB021
Having the National RSA qualification is mandatory for all staff working in licensed premises in Queensland. This includes bartenders, glass collectors, floor staff and room service staff. The training must be undertaken by a staff member within 30 days of employment, either face-to-face or online. The National RSA (which is the only qualification now recognised in Queensland) does not have to be renewed every three years, as was previously the case with the Queensland RSA.
Do volunteers need to obtain their RSA?
If you are a Community Club, and you use the services of volunteers, not every volunteer needs to obtain their RSA. However, you should have enough trained volunteers working every shift to supervise others.
Can I complete the course online or face-to-face?
We recommend that if you are new to hospitality, completed your RSA a long time ago, or have moved here from interstate or overseas, that you complete your course in face-to-face mode.
If you have been working in hospitality for some time, then it is safe to gain your credential online. We have a brand-new online course delivered in HD Video mode. Please contact our director, Anne Finamore on (07) 5430 6639 to pay by credit card, and obtain your site link.
